Minnesota Biomanufacturing Services at the University of Minnesota is a pilot-scale biomanufacturing facility specializing in microbial fermentation, recombinant protein expression, and upstream and downstream process development. As a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), we support partners across academia, startups, and established industry by providing flexible, phase-appropriate services that bridge the gap between benchtop research and commercial manufacturing. Our team has experience across a diverse range of application areas—including human therapeutics, veterinary medicine, agriculture, industrial biotechnology and biofuels—and works closely with clients to translate early concepts into scalable, robust, and compliant bioprocesses. With access to the University’s scientific expertise and pilot-scale infrastructure, we offer an integrated environment for technology transfer, process optimization, and the production of research, pilot, and pre-commercial quantities of biomaterials.
